Citizen's Auto Positioning System
The prodot 450L's automatic positioning system (APS) automatically adjusts
the gap between the printhead and platten. The adjustment can be made at the
start of every page, every line or at any position on the page by means of
software control.
The result, optimum head positioning for consitent quality without ant
compromise on print speed.
The APS feature makes the 450L ideal for use with "passbook" or
passport printing. The head can be lifted across the middle of the book to
avoid staples in the centre of the passbook. Alternatively, the printer can
print on both sides of the passbook even though they may be of very different
thicknesses.
Flexible Paper Handling
The 450L is extremely flexible and efficient with easy user control of
load, park and tear functions.
The flatbed chassis ensures trouble free printing on awkward media, e.g.
plastic and thick, multi-copy papers. Even with 1+1 copy printing, the straight
paper path makes the printer noticably easier to use and almost imune from paper
jamming.
The friction feed has been designed to handle paper with precision making it
possible to print or amend details on business cards with ease.
The front-load, front-eject mode on the 450L allows single sheets, invoices
and cards to be placed on the "table" at the front and printed copy is
returned the smae way. This is not only ideal for "passbook"
printing, but also for the standard cut-sheet A4-paper
The 106-column printer allows A4 paper to be inserted "sideways"
or in "landscape" mode, impossible on a standard 80-column printer.
Easy-To-Use Control Panel
The LCD control panel, developed over a number of years and first introduced
on Citizen's Swift 24 printer makes the 450L amazingly easy to set up and use.
The printer tells you what is happening in plain English (or German, French,
Italian, etc..) rather than with a series of flashing lights!
But this ease-of-use doesn't mean that the printer is not powerful.
The "Macro" feature allows multiple configurations and setups to
be recalled at a touch of a button and asjusted to suit the particular user's
needs.
